It’s here, we made it. It was only two games, but there was meaningful football last night. I will never enjoy watching college football, but it certainly was nice to have on in the background while watching Endgame for the 10th time… Feels like the wind was taken out of the baseball sails rather abruptly, and there’s no going back from here. Even this morning, my weekly ritual of research, analysis, and writing has been a struggle knowing that it has begun.
To properly kickoff the season, I started my Saturday by watching the greatest college football movie ever made: The Program. Most people prefer a fake, inspirational story that makes them believe they too could be a walk on at an FBS school, but I’ve always been a realist in search for truth. The Program was years ahead of its time and tackled ongoing NCAA issues such as Steroids, academic fraud, drug abuse, domestic violence/assault, paying players, mental illness, and doing whatever it takes to protect the program. Brilliant movie that would have gotten more critical acclaim if they had casted a hobbit instead of the great James Caan!

This brought the overall MLB season to 548-366 with a gain of 260.82 Units and the college football season down to 0-1 with a loss of 5 Units. You can follow my plays daily on the Action Network. My plays for today, Sunday, August 25th:
